On March 30, 2026, the 9th Executive Council Meeting of the 11th China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA) and the 17th Industry Core Enterprises Summit were convened in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. Under the theme “Scaling New Heights, Advancing Innovation, Embarking on a New Journey,” the meeting focused on the new missions and pathways for industry development in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It reviewed the achievements of 2025, outlined key priorities for 2026, and explored how, under the new circumstances, the industry can promote higher-quality and more sustainable development through fostering new quality productive forces, deepening global布局, and accelerating digital transformation.

Chairman Yang Xiaojing of CSMA, along with vice chairpersons (full-time and part-time), specially invited vice chairpersons, executive directors, and their representatives—over 60 participants in total—attended the meeting. Members of the Board of Supervisors were present as non-voting participants. The meeting was chaired by Xu Dong, Deputy Secretary General of the Association.

The meeting reviewed and approved the 2026 CSMA Key Work Plan Report delivered by Vice Chairman and Secretary General Chen Ji. As 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, CSMA will continue to follow the guiding principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Centered on national and industry high-quality development goals and key tasks for the 15th Five-Year Plan, the Association will focus on ten priority areas: strengthening planning implementation, deepening policy advocacy, improving industry research, accelerating industrial transformation, promoting technological innovation, optimizing standards support, advancing talent development, expanding global markets, enhancing communication and service, and completing the Association’s leadership transition. These efforts aim to accelerate digital upgrading, cultivate and expand new quality productive forces, strengthen global布局 and market expansion, and optimize a modern sewing machinery industrial system—laying a solid foundation for a strong start to the new five-year journey.

Vice Chairman Wu Jiling provided a comprehensive review of the industry’s economic performance in 2025 and offered outlooks for 2026 in light of domestic and international macroeconomic conditions. He noted that in 2025, the sewing machinery industry experienced stable but moderating growth, with a slight decline in production, weaker domestic demand but stronger overseas markets, significant improvement in profitability, continued structural optimization, and steady progress toward high-quality development. As the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, 2026 will see the industry focus on breakthroughs in high-end segments, intelligent upgrading, and global expansion, while accelerating the transition toward service-oriented manufacturing. Although the broader external environment—economic conditions and consumption—has not significantly improved, opportunities are emerging from downstream supply chain restructuring and digital upgrading.

The meeting also featured a keynote report by Li Ruoyu, Director of the Finance Division of the Economic Forecast Department at the State Information Center. Drawing on the latest data and policy directions, she provided an in-depth analysis of how current domestic and international macroeconomic conditions are impacting the sewing machinery industry. From perspectives including global supply chain restructuring, changes in consumer markets, and monetary policy trends, she offered professional insights and forward-looking recommendations to help enterprises grasp macro trends and mitigate operational risks.

Focusing on the meeting theme and key industry priorities, leaders from major enterprises—including Xue Xiuyao, Chairman of Lejiang; Ruan Zhenhua, President of Jack Group; Li Xiaofeng, Vice President of ShangGong ShenBei; and Wang Xunwu, Chairman of Bomeng—delivered speeches in succession. Drawing on their own practices, they shared experiences and achievements in areas such as intelligent manufacturing upgrades, overseas localization strategies, collaborative supply chain innovation, and digital transformation, providing valuable references and insights for participants.

During the subsequent discussion session, representatives engaged in in-depth exchanges on key topics such as the current market environment, technological trends, international expansion, and talent development. The discussions further consolidated consensus, strengthened confidence in development, and generated constructive suggestions for the Association’s work.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Yang Xiaojing emphasized that 2026 marks the beginning of a new stage in the industry’s 15th Five-Year Plan development. The sewing machinery industry must accurately grasp the trends of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. Guided by new quality productive forces, it should build a foundation through technological innovation, enhance quality through application upgrades, pool strength through openness and cooperation, empower development through digital and intelligent transformation, and safeguard progress through standards—thereby driving profound changes in development models, drivers, and fields.
Regarding future priorities, he put forward three key expectations:
First, strengthen internal capabilities and optimize布局 through multiple measures to advance to a new stage of industrial development—by fostering new productive forces, adhering to innovation-driven development, reinforcing endogenous growth, promoting specialization and refinement, prioritizing quality, advancing green development, optimizing industrial structure, encouraging integrated development, strengthening talent development, and upholding high-quality growth through entrepreneurship.
Second, focus on integration to expand markets and build a new landscape, moving toward a new stage of global integration—by strengthening domestic market presence, actively expanding overseas markets, and integrating resources to broaden application markets.
Third, enhance strategic collaboration to consolidate core strengths and boost vitality, advancing toward a new stage of ecosystem synergy—by deepening enterprise-level collaboration, building industry chain cooperation platforms, and expanding cooperation through external resource integration.
During the meeting, the 9th Meeting of the 1st Board of Supervisors was also held.
