To gain an in-depth understanding of the current development status and transformation strategies of sewing machine manufacturers amid the evolving industry landscape and increasingly intense market competition, a delegation led by Wu Jiling, Vice Chairman of the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA), conducted a special research tour in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, from July 13 to 16. The delegation visited nearly 20 complete machine manufacturers, including Jack, Maqi, New Shunfa, Baoyu, Huibao, Juita, Jiadao, Duma, Hover, and others.

During the visits, the delegation toured production facilities to learn about enterprises' progress in technological upgrading and product development. Multiple roundtable discussions were also held with company representatives to gain a detailed understanding of their production and business performance, market expansion, brand development, and strategic planning since the beginning of the year. In addition, in-depth exchanges were conducted on corporate positioning, transformation strategies, and differentiated development paths.

The survey found that, by accelerating expansion into the mid-to-high-end market, strengthening global brand operations, and driving efficient innovation to address key challenges in sewing processes, sewing machinery enterprises in the Taizhou region have generally maintained stable growth in the first half of the year despite external challenges such as sluggish global economic recovery, escalating geopolitical conflicts, and weak downstream market demand. Many leading enterprises—including Jack, Maqi, New Shunfa, Baoyu, and Precious—reported steady increases in revenue, while some specialized small and medium-sized enterprises even achieved double-digit growth in niche markets. At the same time, the research team noted that many companies continue to face significant challenges, including increasingly homogeneous competition, rising capital costs, exchange rate fluctuations, and market uncertainties.

During discussions with the participating enterprises, Wu Jiling provided a comprehensive overview of the industry's current development landscape and outlined the major objectives and key development priorities of the industry's 15th Five-Year Plan. He encouraged enterprises to remain confident, seize opportunities arising from intelligent transformation and the expansion of emerging markets, clearly define their market positioning, and firmly pursue a differentiated development strategy based on specialization, refinement, differentiation, and innovation. He also called on enterprises to continue advancing digital and intelligent transformation, proactively invest in forward-looking areas such as intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and build stronger momentum for their long-term development.
