Digital & Intelligent Diversification, Specialized Excellence as the Foundation — CSMA Components Branch Holds Leadership Election Conference and 2026 Annual Thematic Meeting in Chongqing

On May 28, the Leadership Election Conference and 2026 Annual Thematic Meeting of the Components Branch of the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA), themed “Digital & Intelligent Diversification, Specialized Excellence as the Foundation”, was held in Chongqing. More than 50 executives from sewing machinery component enterprises attended the meeting. Yang Xiaojing, Chairman of CSMA, was present at the event, while Wu Jiling, Vice Chairman of CSMA and Director of the Components Branch, presided over the meeting.

The conference elected the leadership team of the Fourth Components Branch of CSMA. Wu Jiling was elected Director of the Branch, while Li Rengen, Cai Xianfeng, Chen Jingen, Wang Xiaoyong, Chen Yefa, Guo Jun, Zhang Weibing, Ding Shikui, Liang Tong, Xi Lili, and Wu Bo were elected Deputy Directors. Yang Xiaojing presented plaques to the newly elected leadership team of the Fourth Components Branch. The meeting also reviewed and approved the work report of the Third Components Branch and the work plan for the Fourth Components Branch.

At the meeting, Wu Jiling delivered a keynote report interpreting the industry’s development trends during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Guo Jun, Li Rengen, Cai Xianfeng, Wang Xiaoyong, Shen Jianchun, and Xi Lili shared insights on topics including industrial cluster development, market expansion strategies, and enterprise management experience.

Focusing on the conference theme, the development path of component enterprises during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and the future direction of the new branch’s work, participants actively contributed ideas and suggestions based on their business realities and industry trends. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including commitment to core business, quality-first strategies, business model innovation, long-term development, AI applications, global market expansion, diversified business development, and livestream-based sales. The atmosphere was highly engaging and productive. Participants unanimously agreed that the components sector would encounter new development opportunities during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Under the guidance of CSMA and the Components Branch, enterprises will continue to pursue the path of specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and innovation, accelerate industrial upgrading, actively embrace emerging technologies and applications such as artificial intelligence, comprehensively expand into global markets, and strengthen the foundations of China’s sewing machinery industry as it advances toward the front ranks of global manufacturing powers.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Yang Xiaojing first congratulated the successful convening of the conference and the newly elected leadership team of the Fourth Components Branch on behalf of the Association. He also expressed gratitude to the Third Components Branch for its outstanding work, to the entrepreneurs who have long worked on the front lines of the industry, and to Chongqing Zero-One Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. for its support of the conference.

Yang noted that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China’s sewing machinery components industry successfully withstood market fluctuations and the impact of the pandemic, demonstrating strong resilience and development potential. The industry achieved steady growth, further optimized its industrial structure, improved product quality, enhanced its equipment system, strengthened brand influence, and witnessed the rapid rise of a new generation of entrepreneurs, reflecting simultaneous progress in both growth momentum transformation and value enhancement.

In 2026, the Association officially released a series of strategic documents, including the Guiding Opinions on the High-Quality Development of China’s Sewing Machinery Industry During the 15th Five-Year Plan Period (hereinafter referred to as the Guiding Opinions), with the aim of leading the entire industry in continuing its transformation and upgrading while building a modern industrial system characterized by stronger innovation capabilities, higher added value, and greater sustainability. As the core of the industry’s modern supply chain, component enterprises will play a comprehensive supporting role in driving the sewing machinery industry toward higher-quality development.

Regarding the future development path and direction of the components industry, Chairman Yang offered four recommendations.

First, maintain confidence and stay focused. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China’s sewing machinery industry, which possesses the world’s most complete industrial chain, the largest application market, and the most dynamic innovation ecosystem, is entering a strategic opportunity period for upgrading from a follower and parallel runner to a global leader. The Guiding Opinions call for the establishment of five to ten intelligent manufacturing demonstration workshops for specialized sewing machinery components to further advance digital and intelligent manufacturing throughout the industry. Enterprises should therefore strengthen their confidence, adopt a long-term perspective, and respond rationally to short-term market fluctuations and the new challenges arising in the next stage of development.

Second, improve quality and uphold excellence. The Guiding Opinions identify “strengthening quality and brand development to enhance international competitiveness” as a key task and set clear requirements for improving component quality. Component enterprises should elevate their understanding of quality as a critical driver for moving into the mid- to high-end market. They should advocate a culture of premium products and craftsmanship while fostering an industry-wide environment where quality comes first.

Third, stay close to the market and innovate business models. Artificial intelligence will fundamentally reshape traditional models of production, management, and marketing. Component enterprises should keep pace with these changes and leverage new technologies, materials, processes, and business models to create new value and open new markets. At the same time, they should accurately understand the changes brought by the “small-batch, rapid-response” production model increasingly adopted by downstream users and seize the growing global demand for sewing machinery components. Enterprises should actively adapt to evolving end-user markets by embracing a development model that integrates online and offline channels and combines domestic and cross-border business. New tools and channels such as AI applications, livestream e-commerce, and cross-border e-commerce should be utilized to conduct targeted marketing and brand promotion.

Fourth, pursue strategic collaboration for mutual success. The industry’s new development stage places higher requirements on collaboration between machine manufacturers and component suppliers. As Chinese brands accelerate their move into mid- and high-end markets, component enterprises should remain closely aligned with complete machine manufacturers, extending cooperation throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design and R&D to production and optimization. Such collaboration should be based on shared goals, shared interests, and mutual trust, with the objective of building communities of common interests and strategic partnerships that deliver mutual benefit and long-term success.

Chairman Yang also urged the Fourth Components Branch to strengthen its team and enhance its service capabilities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining Party-building leadership and comprehensively strengthening the Party’s leadership over industry associations. In accordance with the Opinions of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council on Promoting the Deepening Reform of Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce, the Branch should further improve both organizational and operational Party coverage, using high-quality Party-building to drive high-quality development of branch activities.

In addition, the Branch should establish collaborative platforms and strengthen its service functions. Starting from the practical needs of enterprises and taking into account the characteristics of the industry’s development stage, it should integrate resources from industry, academia, research institutions, and users to build cooperative platforms and enhance the overall competitiveness of the industrial chain. The Branch should also fully leverage the roles of deputy directors, leading enterprises, and young committee members to deliver high-quality services to member enterprises.

During the conference, all delegates also visited and conducted research at several local enterprises, including Chongqing Lingyi Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Jinmao Textile Co., Ltd..
