Two Green and Low-Carbon Group Standards for the Sewing Machinery Industry Pass Review

On November 5 and 7, the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA) organized the review meetings for two group standards via video conferences: Methodology and Requirements for Product Carbon Footprint Quantification — Sewing Machinery and Guidelines for Green Factory Development in the Sewing Machinery Industry. CSMA Vice President and Secretary-General Chen Ji and Supervisor-General Lin Jianlong attended the meetings.

The expert panel for the review was composed of specialists from industry authorities, standardization bodies, the green and low-carbon field, as well as the sewing machinery sector. The leading drafting organization, the China Sewing Machinery Association, reported on the development process of the two standards. The expert panel then conducted a clause-by-clause review of both texts, focusing on the rationality of the technical indicators, reliability of data sources, alignment with industry practice, and consistency with existing national standards. Experts provided a wide range of constructive revision recommendations.

After thorough discussion, the panel reached unanimous agreement that both standards feature sound structure, clear logic, and comprehensive content. They meet the practical needs of the industry's green and low-carbon transition and offer strong foresight and operability. The meeting requested the drafting team to carefully incorporate expert feedback, finalize revisions to the draft for approval, and complete submission procedures for official publication.
