CSMA Spare Parts Branch Holds 2025 Annual Meeting in Shenzhen

On June 18, the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Spare Parts Branch of the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA), themed “Strengthen Advantages, Create Value, Promote Transformation”, was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Nearly 60 participants attended the meeting, including CSMA Chairman Yang Xiaojing, CSMA Vice Chairman and President of the Spare Parts Branch, Wu Jiling, representatives from member units of the Spare Parts Branch, as well as key spare parts and sewing machine enterprises from Shenzhen.

At the meeting, Wu Jiling delivered a keynote report titled “Pooling Resources to Strengthen Advantages, Building Value Through Internal Capability, Remaining Confident and Focused to Accelerate Transformation and Upgrading”. He addressed four major areas: the current state of the industry, future development trends, opportunities and challenges, and strategies for transformation and upgrading.

During the discussion session, participants shared their enterprises’ recent experiences, challenges, and strategic responses, based on their respective areas of expertise. Topics included: strengthening core technology capabilities, exploring new development fields, building joint R&D communities between spare parts and machine manufacturers, developing platform-based growth models, engaging with the robotics industry, and resisting internal industry competition to enhance collaboration.

Representatives from sewing machine manufacturers shared their expectations for the spare parts sector, including localization of key components, stronger joint R&D efforts, acceleration of standardization in automatic machine parts, and development of high-quality spare parts. These exchanges helped to promote deeper communication and cooperation between spare parts and sewing machine enterprises.

Participants agreed that under the pressures of weak global economic recovery, intensified geopolitical competition, and uncertain trade and tariff policies, enterprises face significant operational challenges. They emphasized the need to anticipate changes, plan ahead, adjust business and product structures, enhance their strengths, and actively explore new collaborative models to avoid harmful competition and contribute to the development of new productive forces and a modern industrial system.

CSMA Chairman Yang Xiaojing congratulated the successful convening of the meeting and thanked the Shenzhen Sewing Equipment Association and local spare parts and sewing machine enterprises for their strong support. He pointed out that 2025 marks both the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the beginning of planning for the 15th Five-Year period. As the foundation of the industry, spare parts are critical to building a modern industrial system and supporting China’s path to becoming a strong manufacturing nation. At this pivotal moment, as the industry transitions from high-profit margins to low-growth, low-margin models, spare parts enterprises stand at a critical juncture for transformation.

Chairman Yang put forward four key expectations and requirements for the spare parts industry:

1.Strategic Planning and Scientific Development. Spare parts enterprises should actively contribute to CSMA’s industry planning, offer insights and suggestions. They should seize opportunities, carefully plan their development strategies. Confidence must be maintained with long-term strategic thinking and scientific development approaches.

2. Focus on “Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative” Development. This development model aligns with national strategies and industry priorities. Enterprises should deepen specialization and refinement, build competitive advantages in niche markets. They should develop differentiated features and drive innovation to cultivate new productive forces.

3.Pursue Quality Enhancement and High-Quality Development. Spare parts enterprises must focus on improving the quality of critical components and promoting localization. They should enhance quality management and testing systems, attract skilled personnel, and enforce higher standards. Through advanced manufacturing techniques and high-precision equipment, they can improve consistency and reliability.

4. Strengthen Collaboration Between Spare Parts and Machine Enterprises. Spare parts manufacturers should stay aligned with industry trends in digitalization, automation, and intelligence. Deeper strategic cooperation across the full product lifecycle is essential. Integration of organizational culture and long-term partnerships can be achieved through staff exchanges, training, and shared knowledge platforms.

During the meeting, participants also visited Shenzhen Chaocheng, Shenzhen Yanuo, and Huizhou Jinhe for site tours and in-depth exchanges.
